On the foothills of Carmel in Mangalore stands Bajjodi, a valley uninhabited till 1978, belonging to St. Sebastian Parish, Bendur. St. Vincent de Paul Society’s strenuous efforts to resettle some poor Catholic families in this valley, in the land donated by St. Antony’s Ashram, creates the ambiance for a new Parish. The Parish priest and the faithful of Bendur envisaged a new parish in Bajjodi.
